Hays said Q4 group net fees fell 5% year on year, but it now expects FY26 pre-exceptional operating profit to be at the top of the £37.0m-£46.0m consensus range. Net cash was c.£20m at 30 June 2026, versus c.£15m net debt on 31 March 2026.
Hays has completed the sale of six European countries to Meraki Capital for about £4 million net cash proceeds. The 13 countries involved are expected to deliver broadly break-even pre-exceptional operating profit on about £85 million of net fees in the year to 30 June 2026.
Hays plc announced a £5m share buyback programme to satisfy employee share plans. The programme commences on 1 June 2026 and is scheduled to conclude by 10 July 2026. Repurchased shares will be held in treasury.
