Genus lifted adjusted profit before tax 35% to £100.2m and generated record free cash flow of £62.0m, cutting net debt to £71.8m. Statutory profit before tax of £310.5m included a £204.1m gain from the PIC China porcine business disposal, while a £60m buyback is planned for FY27.
Genus has launched a buyback of up to £60 million in ordinary shares, which will be cancelled to reduce capital, with completion expected in H2 FY27.
Genus expects FY26 adjusted profit before tax of about £98m, moderately ahead of market consensus, after stronger second-half trading and cash generation. The update also includes a final £5.6m BCA milestone payment and approximately £111m of net cash consideration in Q4.
